Issue

I just confirmed that 15 is NOT correct.

Hakpaks are loaded fine for online servers.

I have a modified cg_races.GUI that I placed in a hak, made a dedicated online server, then joined it with a second instance of NWN...the hak'd gui loads just fine.

Really? News to me. I know that heads in a hakpak are not available on the character creation GUI and the common word is that hakpaks are not loaded at that point. Do you have a definitive answer on what is and isn't loaded from hakpaks at character creation?

Nope, I don't. All I know is, I've been told by the powers that be, that the resource load order was turned on its head when HoU was implemented...and things changed.

As far as I can tell, ALL 2da's are loaded when the module is loaded now (which is PRE character gen). As for PC heads, dunno bout that, never tested that stuff (that's CC stuff, I let our artists deal with that stuff).

It may make a difference if you select a premade character, then create a new character from that screen. If there is an issue with loading order for the hakpak in chargen, that should alleviate it.

I've actually done some work with this while working on my Shadowrun PW. Unfortunately, the servers on remote locations will not load the haks or tlk files during character creation - so heads, portraits, feats, classes - all that custom stuff is unavailable. There is a way to use the codi inside the game via conversation... but I haven't tried to adapt it to SR yet. In any case, about the best way I've found is to simply have the player send you their character in a folder with the same name as their community name, and then they can start it as lvl 1... they'll still show up with the old information though.
