Issue
Trueseeing can be considered broken, and there's no way to fix this as it's hardcoded. Unlike "real" D&D truesight, NWN truesight will allow the creature to see hidden creatures normally.
Discussion
Unlike "real" D&D truesight, NWN truesight is useless without this capability, since there are no real illusions in NWN. True Seeing isn't "broken" -- without the ability to see hiding, it would be completely useless. See Invisibility and Ultravision, two _2nd level_ spells would be 4 spell levels lower, and be better since their durations are longer.
This bit of hard coding is a good move on Bioware's part, or True Seeing would be pointless.
Jasperre's opinion
For some part, this is true, however, there are some things that True Seeing could counter in NwN - such as illusion spells in general or specific. By having True Seeing, you should be immune to all Illusion based spells - such as Wierd and Phantasmal killer (and shadow spells), unless I'm incorrect (if so, read on). If it is "Illusions which exsist for a duration" such as, for example, Illusionary Terrain, there might be uses at other times, in addtion, things like Blur or displacement and that could be made immune to.
Also, True Seeing should see Ethereal people! It doesn't, dispite it being in all spell descriptions. This is very strange, considering the addition of it in SoU.
The actual best thing Bioware could have done is split up the different functions of True Seeing (the Seeing Invisible part and the Seeing through Hiding part) so we could recode as we please. It is easily linked together as normal.
Hey, I'm not personally too bothered, its easy to make it into a different thing - such as immunity to the illusion spell school and EffectSeeInvisible() linked instead of what this is. Of course, hard coding it means some things cannot be got seperatly - you couldn't, for example, have an effect that makes it easy to see only hidden things, not invisible ones.
Just my opinion, of course. No matter on what changes (I doubt anything) it'll be always mainly hardcoded.
Counter Point
However, I'd also like to provide a counter arguement. True Seeing, as defined by WoTC, was never intended to see hidden people. As it currently is coded, it totally nullifies the concept of a character such as a Rogue or Ranger who have invested time & skills into Hide, which makes no logical sense.
