NWmax Head Fixer
In NWN Patch 1.66, there is a bug fix for human female heads that will allow helms and glowing monk eyes to work correctly - finally :)
In case you never noticed – human fems when wearing helms have the helm jammed down clipping into their torso like they have no neck and the monk eye glow was inside their cheeks instead of their eyes. Of course this ruins the look of all your military fems and lots of other outfits.
Side Effect: The fix alters the supermodel for female humans and will result in community made custom heads for human females to appear incorrectly situated.

In NWmax .8, there is a HEAD FIXER script that will allow you to quickly change even hundreds of models in a few minutes. Thanks Joco!
Currently this is a Max script and is not usable in Gmax. If you cannot run this, please do email me (Lisa) at tiamiat@comcast.net and I'll be happy to help you fix your old models. For those of you able to run the fix yourselves, I've made a little screenie tutorial while running the fix on the CEP heads.
STEP 1
Make a folder to hold all your female human head models. The model files will start "pfh0" or "pfh2", and end in ".mdl" :
I made one on my desktop and named it "heads" NOTE: textures not needed. DO NOT APPLY FIX to any other Race or Sex files or undesirable results will occur.
STEP 2
- Open Max, and Go to GENERAL UTILS on your NWmax toolbar.
- I am going to use the mass import/export functions as I have hundreds of files to fix but if you are fixing just one file you can use regular import and export.
- For "source" you need your full path to the mdl files:
For me it was C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\heads\*.mdl and I used "target" C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\heads - the same folder, but you can use multiple folders if you wish.
- Press LOAD and your mdl files should be processed into MAX files and saved to the target folder.
- I then deleted all the old mdl files, but they will be overwritten in a later step so you don't have to delete them. Do be sure to save copies. There was one "bad" mdl in the CEP that would not import and I had to trouble shoot by hand in notepad as NWmax could not load it.
STEP 3
Now we apply the fix:
- Back on the NWmax toolbar, General Utilities: go down to the "PLUG-INS" dropdown menu and select HEAD FIXER from the list.
- The HEAD FIXER dialogue opens when you press GO
- Enter the "Pattern" which for me was C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\heads \*.max
- the press "Process" and your files should process very rapidly. When the last one finishes it remains in the scene. Clear the scene in preparation for the next step.
STEP 4
Mass Export: Similar to mass Import in STEP 2 with minor change to "source" as *.max files now
- For "source" you need your full path to the mdl files: For me it was C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\heads\*.max and I used "target" C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\heads
- Press EXPORT and max will rapidly export all the fixed head files as game ready MDL files into your target folder.
STEP 5
Add the mdls to your hak(s) replacing the old mdls and use as normal. Be sure to build your future heads using the new specs.
NOTE: heads fixed to work with patch 1.66 WILL NOT WORK with earlier patch versions.
