Talk:The Hard Code

Hey, I was wondering (after editing a few parts of this page) what is the point of UNRESOLVED and RESOLVED, when clearly many are MEANT to be like that, and the plain fact they are RESOLVED mearly by the fact Bioware will never change it (such sa, say, Maximum Character Level (dispite it being HotU only anyway!) and the Monk AC bonus, or the Game Mechanics). I wondered what was really the point of that, byond a bug list (which is much shorter, and in the things listed, barly is more then a few items of it).

Nils is right about the names of the pages - they really make so little sense. Maybe a thing to change in the future along with my issue of the fact many things will be "unresolved" until the day we die (or Bioware open sources the engine, well after many of us have done with the game) Jasperre 18:05, 10 May 2004 (BST)

You also can't move existing spell-lists around. I tried to replace a spellcaster with a non-spellcaster and attach the spell-list to a prestige class in classes.2da. No dice. The new class had the spellclass icon showing up in the spellbook in-game, but gained no slots. So it seems likely that the spellcaster abilities are actually completely hardcoded to the line# in classes.2da. Someone who's a bit more experienced should verify this in case I screwed up tho. -- Nils 11:22, 7 May 2004 (BST)

Why do we link to these like so: hardcode18? Wouldn't, say, The Hard Code/Something Broken make more sense? No biggie, but still. -- Nils 11:28, 7 May 2004 (BST)

Right, I think we should go with less ambiguous and out-of-order names for the hardcoded issues. I'll sometime work on the new names and delete the old pages, "hardcode22", "hardcode15" etc. don't make any sense after having to go back to another page to see what the recent changes on a talk about one of them was!
